Planned Parenthood – A Call to Action

If you are a woman currently living in the United States, there is a good chance you are one of millions that have been assisted by the Planned Parenthood organization. Planned Parenthood is the nation’s leader in sex education and reproductive health. They are advocates for women’s rights and for women’s health in general. Last year, they were threatened with losing federal funding for the many priceless services they provide to Americans each and every day. Now the Komen Foundation has lifted funding for breast cancer screenings.

When I first moved across the country to start my life with the man who is now my husband I was without a job and without health insurance. Through the Planned Parenthood office in my area I was able to receive low/no cost health screenings and birth control. At a time in my life where every little thing was a new stress, their nurses and doctors were able to provide me with a listening ear and peace of mind regarding my health. At the time, it was EVERYTHING.

If you have a story you’d like to share about how Planned Parenthood has changed your life, please email me at Let me know if you’d like to remain anonymous. I’d love to compile all of our stories and share them with the world and with the men and women who feel they have the power to make our choices for us. Those men and women who believe that political power is more valuable than the health of this country. We may not change any minds but perhaps we can help raise a little change to support an organization that has taken such good care of us.
